Hello! I’m Yami and for the last six months I’ve been drawing a long sci-fi fan comic inspired by The Stanley Parable game.
Lullaby for Stanley is a fantasy about what the events leading up to the game’s story might have been.
“What if the original narrator was the artificial intelligence of a spaceship? How did he and Stanley end up inside the game loop?“
The comic tries to answer these questions and invites the reader to experience the atmosphere of cold and empty space.
In many ways, this is a story about bad luck: about how many small problems - not terrible on their own, together can create monstrous consequences.
The plot of the comic is constructed in such a way that you can read it as an original story without knowing the game.
The comic is posted on TAPAS on Wednesdays and Saturdays at 8pm (Pacific Time Zone).
Now there is a separate blog for comic! It works well for the desktop version of the site. But I guess the posts there will be a little late, so it’s better to check the latest updates on tapas.
◆ Reblogs help new readers discover the comic, thank you! ◆
TW: The comic contains themes of death and psychological instability, as well as non-graphic blood and light body horror. Please be careful if you are sensitive to any of the above.

Oh, I understand that intention! But if microbiologists want to kick me for inaccuracies, they will have to queue up for programmers and doctors, haha.
I think it depends on the end goal - if you want to make hard science fiction, then it’s probably worth minimizing the number of assumptions. But if not…
You know, sometimes it’s worth taking the time to find out the right answer only to ignore it with full awareness, because it’s necessary for the plot.
As the tiny flashback from Narrator’s past is over (for now) I can share my very first sketch of doctor Mei :3
Dr. Mei led a team of programmers working on the creation and training of “The Parable” AI. According to colleagues, Dr. May treats machines better than people, although objectively this is an exaggeration, Mrs. Mei simply does not like it when people do their part of the work carelessly.
By the way, the appearance of Dr. Mei had an influence on the AI avatar (which he chose himself). If we very, very simplify the logical chain of a very young (on that moment) AI, then it was like this: “Dr. May is cool! Dr May has beautiful lines around her eyes when she smiles! I want the same!“
I’m extremely tired and still can’t sleep. I probably should have just listened to my heart and got drunk. In this case, I would at least sleep. Endless circle of fatigue. The last time I took my sleeping pill, I had a night full of nightmares, but I guess I’ll have to repeat and hope for the best.
Me: comic plot is actually very simple.
Also me at 3 am reading article about microbiology for the plot:
Tho still think that the plot is pretty straightforward.
News about the new publication format
Hello!
I am here with news about the comic (although I sincerely do not know whether to consider them good or bad).
After much deliberation, I decided to change the format of publication. Initially, I wanted to publish the comic chapter by chapter so that the reader can immediately get a more complete piece of story. But now I’m working on a long chapter and I understand that the pause between publications is getting longer and longer, and, unfortunately, despite all my efforts, I cannot draw faster. I’m afraid that by the time I finish the chapter, you will simply forget what happened in the last part, and this will not be your fault.
Therefore, I decided to switch to the ‘page by page’ format. I can’t say that this is the ideal solution, because there are many pages in the comic where the voice-over is distracting or repeating itself, and the main plot does not move. But still I rely on your patience.
A little specifics:
- I uploaded my comic to TAPAS (since tumblr likes to remove posts from search results if they have a link to an external site I will add a link to a PINNED POST).
- The pages that have already been published on Tumblr are placed in an episode called ‘Pages 1-23 (part 1)’. Starting from page 24, which I have already added to tapas – all pages will be new.
Publication schedule:
- For the first month, the pages will be published 2 times a week, on Wednesdays and Saturdays at 8 pm.
- Next, the pages will probably be published once a week (but perhaps I will be able to keep up the pace and leave a two-page publication).
With all ready pages I have right now, I can promise you at least two month of regular updates.
I honestly admit, that I more than anyone want to just post at once everything that I have managed to draw since the last publication. But I know that this will lead to the chapter being interrupted in the middle on the cliffhanger, and then you will have to wait for several more months and it seems to me just a bad decision for a storytelling.
Therefore, I hope that the option with a page-by-page publication will be a worthy compromise. And as always: I will be very glad of your comments and support. All this helps to keep the creative fire and continue working further.
Thanks!
PS This is a temporary version of the cover, I hope I will find a free day soon and make a cover design from scratch! Also sorry for my English.
[ Themis is blind, but AI is deprived of this small mercy. And therefore he will s e e all the consequences of the decisions he has made. ]
I drew a sticker design with Leon, add a simple background just for fun.
Draw keychain design with my saddest boy
hey just letting you know that there's a user called ladyarchangel who reposted some of your work without credit, they repost a lot of work without crediting the artists.

Thank you anon! I will check what could be done with it a little bit later.
just found your blog and im in love with your art, your tsp comics are gorgeous!!! the au is also super interesting, i can’t wait to learn more :D
Thank you very much for taking the time to write this to me! Your words remind me that all this work was for reason.
I continue to slowly (but regularly) work on the comic. Twelve new pages have already been drawn, tho they have not yet been published anywhere except my Boosty.
I’m thinking to change the publication format a bit, so you’ll definitely be able to find out more of the story soon!
I continue to do very sketchy things in between of the pages of the main comic (for a rest). This scene is a slice of a possible future from very distant events inside the ‘Lullaby’ AU: after the events of the comic (which is a prequel, as we remember) and after some of the events of the original game.
I will draw a small continuation to this page a little later.
